At the Beach
"Wait, Harut!" shouted Jeff. "You will stay here. Sleep on the sofa for God's sake. Don't go away, please. You can stay here as long as you like. Unless you find a better place."
"Thanks Jeff! You are a real friend."
The next day, early in the morning, Harut went to check on the girls, to see how they were doing in their new dwelling. He had no idea that it was their day off. Approaching the room he noticed that it was not locked. Moreover, it was open halfway. He wanted to knock anyway, but thinking that they would be up and ready to go to work, he just pushed the door open and went in. What he saw was really sickening: Nelly was lying in bed with a guy with arms round each other. They were fast asleep. The night had been hot. Alex hadn't lied to him. But where was Anna? She was supposed to be sleeping beside Nelly. But she just was not there. "Maybe she's in the bathroom," thought Harut to himself and directed his steps towards the bathroom. He opened the door: the bathroom was as empty as an orphan's stomach. He started to get sick. For a moment he lacked some air. He found it difficult to breathe and walked out of the room to find Anna thinking that she might be in trouble and need his help. But he just couldn't find her and decided to go to the beach. He thought she might have gone to watch the sunrise. Harut walked along the beach, but useless.
