This club joins together people that have one thing in common - they all love the foreign language they are studying. English, French, Spanish, German, Italian and more! Although it's a club, it has regular meetings - sessions, three times a week, for two hours, with specifically designed ACTIVITIES. Bring your friends with you, or make new friends here, talk to them in your selected foreign language, watch, study, and discuss movies with them, play games, study the culture, art, history, geography of the countries those languages are spoken in - just brush up your knowledge of that language or just keep using it in order to keep it alive and not forget! Our instructors, who are experienced language specialists that have studied abroad, will be there to guide you through the whole duration of the club sessions and will answer the questions you might have. Our club activities are designed in such a way that would give you an opportunity to interact with the other club members in a relaxed manner, which in turn will let you feel well at ease and start speaking in the chosen language more and more fluently. This book is aimed at students who want to develop and improve their knowledge of American English, Standard English, American realities and slang expressions.
The number of people who want to learn the everyday, colloquial English increasing, I wanted to put a book like this together that would help all the interested students, businessmen and any other learners of English to learn the everyday, REAL American English that one can use to understand and to be understood and not the English that one can use for reading just some specific books.
The book is composed on a continued story basis, thus making it interesting and attractive to anyone who will be interested in the adventures of international students in the United States of America. Students who leave their homes to explore the United States and why not, earn some money and hopefully return back to their historical homeland.
The book is unique in that parallel to street language it tries to teach words and word combinations of Standard English as well. Thus, it can be recommended for not only individuals who try to learn the non-standard words and phrases but also for those who want to better their command of English in general.
The adult language, quite vulgar at times, does exist in everyday spoken language, whether we like it or not. So the intention is not to teach that language, but rather to make the learners of English aware of it, so that they understand the street language and avoid misunderstandings and confusions that could even lead to serious troubles.
The learners should know those real-life expressions and words to be able to communicate efficiently.
