Escape
Ani just nodded.
Harut later found out where they had gone. It was a lousy motel on a street that was hookers', drug dealers' and other criminals' workplace.
Harut was alone now. He had nowhere to go. Bob wanted three people, or at least two. But by no means just one. Suddenly, it occurred to Harut. Alex! They would live there together and soon they would find the third person also. He hurried to Jeff's apartment. He was sleeping, but Alex was awake. Harut told him all that had happened and asked if he would go to live with him in the motel.
"No, man," he answered. "I can't. I'm really sorry, but I just can't. I'm paying here almost half of the price we'll have to pay at the motel. I can't lose that money."
"Screw the money, man. I'm your friend, damn it!" said Harut.
"Keep it down guys!" said Jeff who was apparently woken up by the loud voices. "What's the trouble anyway?" he wondered.
Harut had to tell the story of his for perhaps the tenth time. Jeff listened to him carefully and then said: "It sucks, man. You got nowhere to live! Fuck it, I can't even keep you here, 'cause the bedrooms are full. But, what the hell, I can't let you go like this either! I don't know what to do! I'm at a complete loss!"
"Don't worry about me my friend, I'm gonna be alright! I'll figure something out. My false friends have abandoned me. But I'm sure I'll find a way out! Good-by gentlemen!"
