Of course, she didn't understand word for word what the guy said because of his strange (as it seemed to her) accent. But the situation was self-explanatory: the guy wanted to sit at her table and flirt with her. But the last component of his intentions wasn't fully comprehended by her and she gladly nodded.
"I saw you eating in a blue loneliness and thought to myself that this gorgeous and fascinating lady shouldn't be consuming her food in undeserved solitude."
Ani just smiled in return, eating on. She had absolutely no idea what the guy was speaking about.
"Come on, don't be so shy. Speak to me. Do you have any plans for tonight?" went on the guy, "Maybe we could go out together?"
The only word Ani understood was the word 'go out.' She thought the guy was offering something worse than just going out.
She failed to get the overall meaning of the guy's offer.
"Get lost!" she replied.
"You could just say 'please leave me alone', but I see you're rude!"
She looked at her watch.
"Oh my God!" she screamed, "oh my God!"
It was already ten minutes after her ten-minute break. She had taken twenty minutes of break altogether. That was a total disaster. She bounced, threw the leftover into the trashcan and ran out of the cafeteria.
