"Don't run away from me, I can be your sugar daddy! I'll take you all over the world!" cried the guy after her.
... The breaking girl was furious because Ani's tardiness delayed her own break. The “breakers” broke all the assigned guys and only then were able to take theirs.
"Where've you been?" she started, "can't you tell the time? I told you the break was only ten minutes, and it meant ten minutes not twenty!"
"I'm sorry, I was eating."
"You was eating? The ten-minute break is not for eating. You got a lunch break for eating."

Ani got mad, because the girl almost started to yell at her. She noticed that the girl said, "you was" instead of "you were", which would be Standard English. She retorted in a bit raised voice:
"Don't you yell at me! I told you I was eating, and today is my first day. You have to learn to speak correct English first, shame on you! You're a very cruel and ignorant person, I guess you were raised in a non-standard family! I hate you!"
The girl stood speechless. She started to open her mouth and in the end she said with a bitter laugh:
"What the …! I'm gonna tell on you!" she was amazed at Ani's answer. Then she just shook her head and went away.
Ani was triumphant. This was her first victory over the locals. She was proud of herself.
